On Saturday the 21st of April 2012 nama-hatta leaders from all over Mauritius met at the Octave Wiehe Auditorium in Reduit for the first National Nama-hatta Convention the island has ever organised. This event was the culmination of training seminars given by His Grace Kripamoya prabhu, the ISKCON European Minister of Congregational Development, who was also visiting Mauritius for the first time and who had been invited specifically to help the devotees here in congregational development.

During the week preceeding the convention Kripamoya prabhu gave two similar two-day training courses at the Burrenchobay Lecture Theatre, University of Mauritius and the Rabindranath Tagore Institute at Ilot. The seminars were based on prabhu's ISKCON small groups handbook, a wealth of years of experience in congregational development. The practical exercises and discussions that animated the seminars, were thoroughly enjoyed by the participants.

Following Kripamoya prabhu's visit small group leaders expressed their enthusiasm to implement what they had learnt from the seminars in their groups and work and develop congregational preaching using the new strategies they had been introduced to.

If you would like to start a small group in your locality or would like to join an existing small group please contact Giridhari prabhu, Nama-hatta coordinator for Phoenix on 798 4025.
