Radhastami, or Srimati Radharani’s appearance day, is celebrated exactly two weeks after Krishna's and is one of the most awaited and sweetest celebrations for all Vaishnavas. Srimati Radharani is the eternal consort, purest devotee, and dearest servant of Lord Krishna.

On Srimati Radharani’s special day, everyone is very eager to offer some service to the one called ‘the queen of Vrindavan’, and to obtain Her mercy. It is only through the mercy of devotees that one can obtain Krishna’s grace, so as Srimati Radharani is the topmost devotee, Her mercy is invaluable in achieving Krishna-prema or love.

The Deities are offered a new outfit for the occasion. Sometimes, the Sri Sri Radha-Krishna Deities are dressed entirely in flowers, which is a wonderful sight to behold. The Deity room and temple are lavishly decorated with flowers and auspicious mango leaves.

Sri Sri Radha-Golokananda at Hare Krishna Land are the only ISKCON Radha-Krishna Deities in Mauritius. Throughout the day, devotees from all over the island come to offer Them gifts and perform kirtans for Their pleasure. The main programme starts at noon with grand bhoga(food) offering of many special food preparations, especially cakes and sweets, to Srimati Radharani. A lecture and a feast follow. Devotees from the Krishna-Balarama temple in Bon Accueil also come to have darshan of Srimati Radharani in the evening, so another programme full of the sweetest kirtans and a feast is held again.

At Krishna-Balarama temple, the programme is at noon.
