Srila Prabhupada's New Asana

On the occasion of Srila Prabhupada's disappearance he was offered a beautiful new vyasasan.

Mother Saraswati, head pujari at the Phoenix temple, had the desire to replace Srila Prabhupada's old vyasasan with a more oppulent one. Mataji Satyabhama was also inspired by the project and in turn inspired others to contribute for it. Bhakta Chip designed the new asana and Bhakta Satish (Bambous), oversaw the carving. The impressive teak wood sitting place was offered to Srila Prabhupada in time for mangala-arati on his disappearance day.

Srila Prabhupada's disappearance is always celebrated with mixed feelings: sadness that Srila Prabhupada was not to stay amongst the devotees in his physical form for more time and joy at the reunion of Srila Prabhupada with his beloved Lord Krishna. During the noon programme Vijay prabhu, co-Temple President, gave class. In the evening different devotees were invited to talk about Srila Prabhupada. On both occasions a sumptuous feast was served.
